Remember to Check These Items!

Finding and fixing a problem before it turns into a major issue can help you save time and money.

BATTERY
Have the battery checked with every oil change. Check for corrosion on the battery terminals. Make sure the cables are securely attached and corrosion free. Ask for a battery load test with your next oil change.

BELTS
Have your belts and hoses checked with every oil change. Belts will usually show visible signs of age before they break.  Some visible signs of deterioration include cracking, fraying, and glazing.  Replace bulging, rotten or brittle hoses and tighten clamps.  Replace any hose that looks bad and/or feels too soft or too hard.

BRAKES
Have your brake system thoroughly inspected annually or every 12,000 miles, whichever occurs first.

COOLANT
Have your coolant level and the antifreeze/water mixture in the radiator checked.

FLUIDS
Check all the fluids, including your brakes, power steering, transmission/ transaxle, windshield washer solvent and antifreeze.  The fluids lubricate moving parts to reduce fiction, heat, and wear.  They are the single most important factor for extending the life of a vehicle.

LIGHTS
Check your brake lights, turn signals and headlights. Replace any weak or used bulbs.

OIL CHANGES
We recommend you have your oil changed every 3 months or 3,000 miles. Always check your owner’s manual.

TIRES
Check for uneven wear or separation. Replace tires if the tread has worn down to 1/16 of an inch or less.

TUNE UPS
Keep your engine tuned. A fouled spark plug or restricted fuel injector can reduce fuel efficiency.

WIPER BLADES
Replace the windshield wiper blades at least once a year. Replace wiper blades when they streak or smear on the windshield. Wiper blades that are ragged or brittle should be replaced.
